Las Vegas – January 5, 2011 — NETGEAR®, Inc. (NASDAQGM: NTGR), a global networking company that delivers innovative products to consumers, businesses and service providers, today announced four new high-performance wireless products at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). These products redefine the role wireless routers and gateways play in consumers’ lives by enabling a variety of innovative new applications and features, which expand the possibilities and unleash the ultimate home network. These new products are: The N600 (WNDR3800) and N750 (WNDR4000) Dual-Band Gigabit routers, the N600 all-in-one home gateway (DGND3700), and a wireless router with integrated powerline AV (WNXR2000).

“NETGEAR has been providing innovative solutions to connect consumers to the Internet for more than 15 years,” said Vivek Pathela, vice president and general manager, Home/Consumer Products, NETGEAR. “Today people expect more from their Internet experience and are connecting a variety of new devices within the home. A wireless router isn’t just a way to share a broadband connection but has become an essential tool to deliver new social, entertainment and mobile communication experiences. Wireless routers are central to the entire home network and enable every connected experience that consumers have, whether in or out of their home. With the new wireless routers and gateways announced today, NETGEAR is not only setting a new industry bar for performance and choice in the wireless networking category, but also redefining the role of the router.”

The Ultimate networking machine – Premium Edition adds new features such as:

  • ReadyShare® Remote – Access your files and folders on a USB external storage device attached to the router from any Mac, PC, smartphone or tablet over the Internet
  • ReadyShare Printer – Connect any multi-function printer to the USB port and access it wirelessly through the network
  • Quick Start, Steady Stream HD – Stream HD videos from files in the ReadyShare USB disk faster and with less delays at startup and from buffering delay in the home and over the Internet to the NETGEAR NeoTVTM
  • Clear Channel Selector – Automatically and dynamically avoid busy WiFi channels for clear and fast wireless connections

Like the award-winning N600 Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router (WNDR3700), the new ultimate networking machine gives consumers a high-performance, secure and reliable solution on which to build their ultimate home network. The new feature-rich router includes all the unique functionality consumers have come to know and trust from NETGEAR, such as Live Parental Controls, Guest Network Access, and a Broadband Usage Meter. In addition, the premium router is DLNA® Certified, has an option to extend TiVo® storage, is compatible with Time Machine software to back up data on a connected USB Storage device and offers one of the highest USB access speeds running a 680 MHz powerful processor.

NETGEAR N600 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit ADSL Modem Router (DGND3700)

The all-in-one, high-performance ultimate home gateway provides a function-rich solution to consolidate multiple network devices in the home. It provides connectivity to the Internet with a built-in ADSL modem or a Gigabit Ethernet port for high- speed cable or fiber service, giving consumers the flexibility to support multiple broadband technologies with a single gateway. With Dual-Band wireless support, the new home gateway can handle multiple high-bandwidth applications across numerous networked devices with ease—resulting in a reliable and speedy Internet connection throughout the home. The new home gateway offers enhanced functionality, including a 4-port Gigabit switch, ReadyShare storage access with two USB ports, a DLNA Media Server, Live Parental Controls, Guest Networks, and a Broadband Usage Meter.

NETGEAR N750 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router (WNDR4000)

The N750 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router delivers top speeds of up to 450 Mbps on the 5GHz channel for fast and flawless HD video streaming, simultaneous downloads, and lag-free online gaming in addition to basic Internet applications. The product’s concurrent Dual-Band technology avoids interference, ensuring top speeds and the highest range, while four Gigabit ports offers ultra-fast wired connection. Like the previously mentioned products, the WNDR4000 includes features such as ReadyShare USB, Live Parental Controls, Guest Network Access, and a Broadband Usage Meter.

NETGEAR N300 Wireless Router with Powerline AV (WNXR2000)

The NETGEAR N300 Wireless Router with Powerline AV is a whole-home “hybrid” connectivity solution that delivers the convenience of wireless and the reliability of a wired powerline and Ethernet connection -- an all in one device. With 200 Mbps powerline integrated into the router’s power supply, the WNXR2000 transforms consumers’ homes into a powerline-ready network, which can easily be expanded with the addition of powerline adapters in other rooms of the home. With the WNXR2000, consumers have the choice to connect mobile devices in the home to the Internet via a fast wireless connection, or devices like gaming consoles and Blu-rayTM players with a wired or powerline connection. The WNXR2000 hybrid router acts as the hub of the digital home, distributing broadband over powerline to televisions and other consumer electronics devices with Ethernet ports as well as over wireless, boosting overall network bandwidth and providing greater coverage in every home environment.

NETGEAR Genie™

Today NETGEAR is also introducing its free NETGEAR Genie application. Launching with the N600 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3800), NETGEAR Genie is a home network dashboard that enables consumers to monitor, connect, and control their home network and also diagnose and automatically fix network connectivity issues.
